Brett Favre Sent Green Bay Packing

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Brett Favre New York JetsThe future Hall of Fame quarterback came out of retirement and wanted to either continue his career with Green Bay or be traded within the division. Neither happened, but he was traded to who? The New York Jets… The Packers came to a trade agreement late Wednesday night sending Favre to the Jets for a fourth round pick. Now before you jump out your seat wondering why Green Bay would give up a quarterback with the skill of Favre for a fourth round pick, there is a catch. NFL Network reports that if Favre takes 50% of the snaps with the Jets, then the fourth round pick becomes a third round pick. If he gets 70% and Jets make the playoffs, then the pick becomes a second round pick. If 80% of the snaps are taken by Brett and the Jets make it to the Super Bowl then the pick becomes a first round pick. The same odd face you are making right now is the same face we made. How do you give a Brett Favre for a chance at a good pick and you let Aaron Rogers run your team? If we remember correctly, the Packers went 13-2 just last season with Brett running the team. Hey we here at randomgosip.com are not NFL experts, but a dog with one and eye and no teeth that meows would have made a better decision than this one. All we can say is good luck to Brett in New York, and Green Bay we hope you know what you are doing cause we don’t.

Here is a video for all you Green Bay fans. Blame your team!!

Teams Missed Out On Douglas-Roberts

Chris Douglas-RobertsChris Douglas-Roberts probably was the most overlooked college player in this year’s NBA draft. While his fellow teammate, point guard Derrick Rose went number one, Douglas-Roberts dropped all the way to the 40th spot. New Jersey selected the 6 foot 7 guard, and may have gotten a steal in the draft. Along side Yi Jianlian, Bobby Simmons, Brook Lopez, Ryan Anderson, the New Jersey Nets are looking good going into the 2008-2009 season. Douglas-Roberts wasn’t even a little bit upset about where he was picked, he said this: “I could have ended up on the Lakers, you know? Somewhere like that, where there’s no playing time.” He was then ask if he had a chip on his shoulders, and he told ESPN: “Big. Big chip. Big. That’s the biggest motivation I have. Getting picked 40, I’m gonna write a book.”

Douglas Roberts was part of the Memphis Tigers team that went 38-2 (including the tournament), and averaged 18.1 points per game last season. Douglas-Roberts came out to say that he didn’t workout for all the NBA teams, and when the draft got around the 15 to 25 pick he knew he wouldn’t be selected. We don’t understand that decision, because we think that you would want to try out for every team so everyone knows about you. He might have ended up in a great place, but for younger players trying to make it to the NBA, shop yourself everywhere. Don’t limit yourself to just a few teams.
