After selling over a million units his first week, and dropping to second behind Coldplay the following 2 weeks, Lil Wayne has gained the number 1 spot again. After suffering a 25% loss in sales in his fourth week, “The Carter 3″ still managed to push out 156,000 units raising his total sales to 1.68 million. Coldplay dropped to second with 149,000 units sold. With Disney’s soundtrack to the “Camp Rock” movie, the Jonas Brothers came in third with 116,000 units sold.

G-Units released their second album “Terminate On Sight” thinking it would give the top spot a run. Their first album “Beg For Mercy” broke 377,000 units back in 2003. That wasn’t the case as the group came in 4th with 102,000 units sold. Couldn’t even beat out the Disney band. With 50 Cent being in the media a lot lately you would have thought sales would have been a bit higher.

We are anxious to see if Wayne can be knocked off the top of the mountain anytime soon. With albums from Killer Mike, Nas, Randy Travis, Lloyd, and The Vines releasing on the 15th of July we will see.

This is the second installment of MTV’s “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila” and we’re still waiting for the MySpace whore to find a man…..or woman! When Tila finally narrowed it down to two finalists, and only Bo and Kristy were left with their shot at love. Even though Bo got his jaw broken for her, Tila still dismissed him and went with ex-playboy model Kristy. After Tila confessed her feelings for Kristy and told her she was the one, Kristy confessed to Tila that she wasn’t sure if she wanted a man or woman. Tila broke down in tears and kept asking Kristy “why would you do this to me, I can’t believe you did this to me.” Kristy said she wasn’t ready to take that step, but apparently Tila was. Right now the main course for Hip Hop is beef, and apparently Jay Z is hungry. It seems Jay Z caught some controversy from Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher. Gallagher made his voice heard by criticizing event organizers for allowing Jay Z to headline the Glastonbury festival. Jay Z got back at Gallagher by preforming his own version of the Oasis song “Wonderwall” and following that up with a brilliant performance of “99 Problems.” If we were Noel Gallagher we wouldn’t stand for it. In other Jay Z news, Celeste Williams was the first petitioner in a class action lawsuit filed against Jay Z’s 40/40 Club. She is saying that while employed at the club she received under minimum wage pay and was not paid for overtime hours. How did she not know how much she was making when she started? We’re confused!! Her lawyer Maimon Kirschenbaum made this statement: “This is a good day for restaurant workers all over the city.” He is also reaching out to other club workers and have them join Ms. Williams on the suit. Personally we feel this is just another attempt to extort money from a celebrity. The truth always comes out in the end and we will keep you posted.
