The brutal fall cuts have begun. First up, Ashton Kutcher’s The Beautiful Life. Starring Mischa Barton and Sara Paxton, the show only aired twice before being yanked by The CW. We watched, we liked, we’re disappointed. The network’s other new show, a remake of Melrose Place, has gotten rave reviews and millions of viewers, so The Beautiful Life’s time slot will be filled with reruns of MP for now.

Patrick Swayze

The AP has confirmed receipt of a statement from Patrick Swayze’s publicist confirming the actor’s battle with Cancer has come to an end.  Swayze, best remembered for his role as the grungy dance instructor, Johnny, in Dirty Dancing, was just 57.  He began his battle with Pancreatic Cancer in January of 2008.

Our prayers are with his family, friends, and fans.
