Soulja Boy Doesnt Wanna Improve Himself

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Soulja BoyA few weeks ago we told you about the feud between O.G triple O.G Ice T and Mr. Crank that Soulja Boy. If you didn’t catch it, Ice T came out and said that Soulja Boy was “single-handedly killing Hip-Hop”, and also added that Mr. Crank That should “eat a dick”. At the time we disagreed with the way Ice T came across, but after hearing what Soulja Boy told MTV we might have to rethink things.

Soulja Boy recently told MTV that he did not wanna improve his lyrical skills, he said:

“If I wanted to, [I could] go that route and be respected [not for] my success … respected [for] my music and my lyrics or whatever.”That’s why I did the mixtape that I did. I did a mixtape called ‘Teen of the South’ with Dj Scream. And I did that just to step my game up a little bit on that [lyrical] side. But I wasn’t really going into no album and just full-fledge trying to switch my swagger and try to get respect from the game.”

Soulja Boy seems to have a small chip on his shoulder. He followed that statement with adding:

“‘Cause why would I show love to the game? The game don’t show you love back. So I wasn’t gonna do that and come back out and mess up my image and mess up myself. I was going on the strength that I want respect from people who probably don’t like me anyway. So I’m gonna stick to what I do and stay being successful and I’ll do some mixtapes and some futures, something like that.”

Does he not realize that the “game” is what is putting food on his table every night. That’s like a rookie going into the league and saying that he isn’t gonna get better, that he is good and wants to keep his rookie image. If you a true artist like Jay Z, Bun B, Nas, or even the late great 2pac and Biggie, your fans will jam you anyway. We here at randomgossip.com have to agree with Ice T on one thing, and that is if what Soulja Boy feels is the way other young artists feel then Hip-Hop will die a slow painful death. Thank God that isn’t the case!

Soulja Boy vs Ice T

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

This so called ongoing beef between Mr. Crank Dat Soulja Boy and O.G Ice T is pretty silly. If you haven’t heard Ice T released a video telling the young artist that he single-handedly killed hip hop. As we all know Soulja Boy blew up with the song Crank Dat. Ice T goes on to tell Soulja Boy to “eat a dick.” Now it’s not a coincidence that Ice T released this just before his album is about to drop… he wouldn’t do that would he? Duh! Of course he would. Crank Dat was released in 2007 and Ice T is now making a comment about it? Something seems fishy. Soulja Boy had this to say about the old man’s comments:

After the release of this video Ice T responded by saying:

?I apologize Soulja Boy for telling you to eat a d*ck. That was just in anger. Because truthfully, a brother of my caliber shouldn’t be talking down on a youngster of your age, but as far as your music goes… it?s garbage! There are kids that go in the studio and really try to rap. That really sit down and write stuff. I?m talking about you are garbage! We got to get rid of that, man. Hip Hop has to last and it ain’t gonna last with you doing that Supaman bullshit.?

If you want to call that a apology, we can’t co-sign it. The whole thing is that every rapper has their own style, and that is what hip hop is about. When it comes clear everyone will see that this is just another publicity stunt for the 50 year old rapper. Just sit back and teach if you feel something is wrong, but the reason, in our opinion, hip hop is so called “dying” is because rappers don’t join together enough, instead of beefing with each other.

We’re sure there’s more to come on this one. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you posted!
