It’s Monday afternoon in Miami. Beaches are packed, kids are playing in the sand, DMX is going to jail. The rapper, real name Earl Simmons, was arrested around 1:30pm by Miami police on a warrant for not having a valid driver’s license.

This makes DMX’s 3rd arrest this year. He was arrested in January for reckless driving, endangerment, speeding, and driving without a license after cameras caught him going 114 mph down an Arizona highway. Apparently he still hasn’t gotten that license issue handled. He was arrested again in February after a 7 month investigation concluded and the rapper was charged with drug possession and animal cruelty. Police raided his Arizona home and found 12 “distressed” pitbulls and suspected drug activity in the home. DMX pled not-guilty to all counts in both arrests.

As for this arrest, his bond is set at $500 and 4 hours after his arrest DMX was still being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade county.
